Outfit Post: Caped Crusader

Capes, ponchos, shawls, whatever you want to call them, are all the rage right now.

It’s one of those trends that was “in” about 15 years ago (and 15 years before that) and has since had a recent resurgence. I remember the last time they were "cool." I was 16, in high school, and dying for a fringe version from Gap. My mom thought I was crazy. Probably because she remembered being young and wearing crazy things like fringe ponchos when she was 16.

But they are once again back. Because that’s what happens with trends. They go in and out of style in a never ending fashion cycle.

As popular as the cape/poncho/shawl may be, certain trends are far less desirable to the opposite sex. This is one of those trends. In fact, when I pulled out this number in New Mexico, B looked at me with a slight look of confusion and asked, “what are you was wearing??

Total man repeller piece.

But I'm not going to lie. I love it. It's warm and basically allows you to acceptably walk around wrapped in a blanket. Plus, I kinda feel like Blake Lively from her recent spread in Vogue Magazine whenever I wear mine.

Man repelling or not, if it's good enough for Vogue and good enough for Blake, it's good enough for me.

And don't worry B, it'll be back out of style in no time.
