Lately I've been drawn to more feminine styles. Maybe it's because I've been spending this winter buried in comfortable clothing and dark colors. Maybe it's the fact that Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Maybe the mid-winter blues have me yearning for spring. Whatever the reason, pinks, frills, and full tulle skirts have been on my mind.
So when I was pursuing through last week's Paris Couture shows, one collection - the Giambattista Valli spring couture collection - stood out among the rest, giving me my fill of frill.
It was pure feminine, high-fashion perfection.
Inspired by conversations between the unlikely duo, Coco Chanel and Janis Jopin (both risk takers in their fashion aesthetic), Valli created a breathtakingly beautiful, ultra feminine collection with hints of menswear inspiration. And even though I am not typically overly ladylike in my style, I am obsessed with every single look (again, let's blame the mid-winter blues). Full of texture and playful touches, the whimsical show fulfilled all my flirty, over-the-top, girly dreams.
And since my dreams are the only place I'll ever be able to wear a Giambattista Valli Couture gown, I'm currently focused on getting my hands on a sheer, polka dot eye mask. I can totally incorporated that into my everyday style, right?
Check out the entire dream worthy show here and let's hope to see one of these looks walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards. Lupita and Emma, I'm looking at you.
